Oh Happy Days - Seat DOES Fit
So I fired off an email to reveille and in the meantime did a quick search of the Harley forums, there were several posts from Fat Bob owners sighting fitment issues for mustang seats. Most were unresolved but one had a comment from mustang themselves:
Are you replacing a stock seat on a stock fender with the original gas tank? Is it a one-piece seat? IF the seat tab opening is just slightly too far back on the fender, be sure that the nose of the seat is firmly up against the gas tank. You can try giving the front area of the seat a firm "karate" chop at a 45 degree angle to smack the nose up tightly on the tank.
On closer inspection I could see that the front seat mount was sitting between the tank bolt and the centre tank trim not UNDER the tank bolt as it should have.
One quick Karate Chop and I was in business.
Today I'll get some dental floss & some 'Oomph' gunk remover and remove the front reflectors and those rubber stops on the rear fender.
