Fat Bob First Impressions
Flew through my first tank of fuel on the fatty, loving it already.
Here are some of my first impressions
Here are some of my first impressions
- I forgot how awesome self cancelling indicators were, I can't believe the Beemer doesn't have this
- The independent turn signals switches (1 on each bar) took little to get used to
- Raising my feet to the forward controls when I take of took no getting used to
- The rear shocks are woeful, possibly they have no preload set on them but I need a special spanner to adjust them, it'll be easier to throw the new set on.
- The note of the exhaust is great
- The vibrations shake my eyeballs in their sockets but its worth it.
- Tilting the bars forward made a massive difference
- I believe the previous owner was female (or a dude with werewolf nails)
- The bike had never been ridden in corners, the rear tyre was not fully scrubbed in. A fact I discovered mid corner in the wet.
- The new mustang 'smooth' wide tripper seems to be more firm that my old diamond stitched wide trippers were.
- The bike pops quite a bit on deceleration. The filter and tuner should remedy this for the most part.
- While slightly more difficult to 'tip in' to corners once in the frontend is confidence insppiritng
- After getting off the beemer the Fatty feels really low. It feels weird looking up at cars rather than down.
