Contemplations - New Dyna
For me the Street Bob is tried and tested, but I love the new (for 2014) Lowrider.
I'm not a fan of the wheel colour, the seat or the fairing but those are all changeable. It's the 110 Cubic inch motor that I'm really turned off by. I was satisfied with the 96 cu in my old bike for 90,000km so I certainly don't need the latest, greatest or biggest motor. More importantly the options for hotting up standard 103s are far more varied than what is out there for hopping up the 110.
So while still sitting in the Street Bob camp I stumbled across this Club Style Lowrider on the Harley forum:
Now like the 'S' model this lowriders fairing and seat are a no for me but the gloss black treatment of the motor combined with the rawness on the wheels and pipes is a perfect balance. Yes the 'S' model has the black out engine treatment but its matte not gloss (so does the Street Bob). In gloss this bike pops. Gloss black engines are what I love best about the current crop of CVO models.
I just don't know if I can pull off tall bars (14" Bars + 2" risers), forward controls and air ride with the lowrider as the starting and still achieve the look I want. I haven't seen anything close to that yet.
But some upgrades I'm planning are a simple task for the street Bob, like bars which are a straight swap with no cable change or the fact that the Street Bob already has blacked out front end, triple trees etc etc.
But that motor really pops.
103 Cube Lowrider
However i'm not overly enamoured with the New (for 2016) Lowrider S.
