Finally getting some traction

Its been a few months wait to get things sorted for the Gen1. I made some initial progress getting the roadworthy and was happy to order some of the initial build parts but.....
  • my surgery left me laid up for longer than I planned....
  • and the roadworth expired....
  • and the Gen2 needed rotors so I robbed them from the Gen1....
  • and the Gen2 needed foot pegs so I robbed them from the Gen1....

So I'm left with an unrideable bike but that is a minor set back as I have a plan.
In the coming weeks I have to complete my remaining purchases so I can get the Gen1 roadworthied and registered that shopping list includes:

  • Foot Pegs and and mounts - Ordered a set of WG mounts off eBay, put them on the Gen2  DONE
  • Brake Rotors
  • Power Vision (so I can ride it to VicRoads)

New Pegs for the Gen1

I'm really pleased with the additional clearance I get from these Bungking Gripper pegs. When I combine them with the reduced reach kit from the Moco I should have 2" of additional clearance.

Once the bike is legal its going to Matt for the next stage of upgrades:
  • Install my bars & risers, grips cables etc
  • Install the power Vision (bar mounted)
  • Do some engine upgrades
  • Install the pipe I've chosen - D&D Bob Cat in Chrome (Again going for clearance)

As if fitting all this stuff isn't exciting enough the motor upgrades are really what i'm jonesing for. After many emails back and forward with Matt I think we are close to landing on an engine package that meets my requirements:
  • S&S 110" Cylinders and Pistons
  • S&S 585 Easy Start Cams
  • S&S Pushrods
  • S&S Cam chain Tensioners
  • S&S Cam Plate
  • S&S Oil Pump
  • S&S Lifters
  • Headwork (Valve Job, port and polish)
  • Run in on Dyno and full tune

I also have a list of shopping items to research and purchase along the way.
  • Mirrors
  • Speed Merchant Bash Plate
  • Front Fork internals (Racetech)
  • Fork brace
  • Rear shocks
  • LED headlights
  • Alloy swingarm
  • Powdercoated wheels
  • Radial caliber update

So to say there's a bit going on would be an understatement..

Oh and the Gen-2 is getting some love this week:

  • New Front Master Cylinder
  • New Front Brake Pads
  • Rotors from the Gen-1
  • New Tyres
  • And a number of small niggles addressed.
