Pretty Much Satisfied

I rode the Harley every day I worked in town last week. Looking at the weather forecast it will probably see daily duties a few more times this week. Daylight savings kicked in last Sunday so it will mean more light on my ride home, The suns was setting while I rode home, now it will rise while I ride in.

With the longer days of spring upon me I also swapped out my tinted visor for shits and giggles today. I may not leave it on as I like the combination of a clear visor and sunglasses so I can ride with visor up or down. I tend to use the tinted visor for road trips. Heck! I even rode home yesterday with no thermal base layer.

I'm pretty much satisfied with the setup of the fatty now, the addition of my swingarm bag means I can now carry small items like my sunnies or a warmer pair of gloves or as I found out yesterday my schampa. It means the impractical bike is just a little bit more practical and will happily see more miles in the cross over season.

I'm realising more an more that is not the Harley strengths that make me want to ride it more then the beemer, its the flaws.

  • Its pretty ugly
  • It doesn't ride that smoothly.
  • It doesn't have all that much ground clearance.
  • Its loud
  • It Vibrates
  • Its brakes are a little average

And with the exception of the ugliness (which I am slowly trying to remedy) I wouldn't have it any other way.

  1. Well-said. So many folks wonder why Harley riders ride Harleys: They're hot, stinky, dirty, vibey, loud, and rough, and yep, that's exactly why.
