Back story & introducing the Dirty Dyna

Howdy, the name's Steve and I like riding motorcycles.

I've been riding for over 30 years now with the last 18 of them on the road. I've ridden everything from sport bikes to dirt bikes to adventure bikes to motards to cruisers. I started blogging about some of my motorcycle antics about 6 years ago.

Over the years I contributed to several blogs including dailybikers.com. I continued with my personal blog but when I gave google plus a try it migrated all my blogger images from picassa to G+ breaking every link and essentially messing up the blog beyond repair. I made the decision to delete it and set up a new place for me to document my riding, modifying and randoms - and here it is.

On my current bike......Despite always having an affection for Harleys I only bought my first a few years back but have since clocked up nearly 70,000km. It will be my main ride for the foreseeable future but as I do so many kilometers (usually around 800 minimum per week) I am currently researching and planning a second Harley. More on that later.

My Dyna has been without a doubt the best bike I've ever owned. I'm well aware that it isn't the fastest, or the cleanest or the newest but it's mine. We've already been on quite a journey together and despite doing so many miles it still puts a smile on my face every time.

Part of this is the mark. Harley Davidson make great bikes and themain drawcard for me is that they age well. Mine still scrubs up well after 70k but even with paint chips and dulled paint and worn parts it looks better with age. Sure they have their haters and I'm not trying to convert you from your current bike. But for me the Harley works.

Until next time.....
